Cable One Grants More than $125,000 to Bolster Local Nonprofits

Charitable Giving Fund Aims to Combat Food Insecurity, Enhance Education, Support Elder Care, Boost Veteran Outreach and Promote Digital Literacy

PHOENIX (Dec. 19, 2024) – Cable One®, a leading broadband provider, recently awarded more than $125,000 in grants through the company’s Charitable Giving Fund. The grants were distributed to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across the 24 states served by Sparklight, its high-speed internet brand.

The Charitable Giving Fund, which awards $250,000 in grants annually, concentrates support in the following priority areas:

This grant season, Cable One also extended support to organizations devoted to veteran outreach, elder care, afterschool programs, community safety, animal advocacy and more.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the local nonprofits that make a meaningful difference in the markets where our associates live and work,” said Julie Laulis, Cable One President and CEO. “These organizations are at the heart of strengthening our communities, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help amplify their efforts. Together, we can bring vital resources and support to those who need it most.

Twenty-four nonprofit organizations received grants during Cable One’s most recent award period, including Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) – Roswell’s Cosmo’s Cupboard and Fairview Elementary School in Sherman, Texas.

ENMU – Roswell’s Cosmo’s Cupboard Food Pantry provides at-need students access to a community cupboard as part of its No College Student Should Go Hungry program.

We are deeply grateful to Sparklight for its generous support through the Charitable Giving Fund,” said Brianna Bitner, Food Pantry Coordinator. “This grant will significantly enhance the efforts of ENMU – Roswell’s Cosmo’s Cupboard Food Pantry to address food insecurity among our students, faculty and staff by providing access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food.”

Fairview Elementary School will use the $3,400 grant to integrate robotics technology into its educational offerings.

“I am incredibly grateful to Sparklight for its generous grant to Fairview Elementary,” said Rebecca Nash, Instructional Technology Specialist at Fairview Elementary. “This funding will significantly enhance STEM/robotics opportunities, providing students with invaluable, hands-on learning. With this support, we are empowering the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. Thank you, Sparklight, for helping us foster a brighter future for our Fairview Bearcats.”

Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for spring 2025 grants will be accepted April 1-30, 2025.
