CABLE ONE INVESTS $11 MILLION IN PRESCOTT TO ENHANCE SERVICE
July 14, 2015 – Prescott,AZ — Cable ONE is working to better serve its Prescott customers by investing more than $11 million in technology, equipment, and infrastructure upgrades which will provide Cable ONE customers with enhanced speed, reliability, and quality in their internet, cable, and phone service. The Prescott upgrade began in May 2013 and is scheduled for completion this fall.
”We’re committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers,” said Cable ONE General Manager Dennis Edwards. “We’re confident that this investment will ensure that our customers will receive superior service, encompassing speed, reliability, and the overall performance of our services.”
This upgrade includes tripling the capacity of the company’s High Speed Data equipment, adding additional circuit capacity to its fiber backbone, installing 85 miles of additional fiber optic cable, and the installation of three new CMTS’s and 210 fiber optic nodes - all of which will reinforce the company’s infrastructure and enhance service. Cable ONE also plans to expand business services in new service areas.
“In addition to improving reliability, we’re continuing to expand our services to provide our customers with the latest products and technical advancements,” Edwards said. “We will be converting to All Digital service starting in September. When this conversion is completed in December, we will able to launch more than 40 new channels (primarily HD channels). All Digital service will also improve picture quality and allow us to deliver faster internet speeds.”
Cable ONE will increase Internet upload and download speeds on its Premier and Ultra plans as a free upgrade to new and existing Internet customers in Prescott this fall. Customers on Cable ONE’s Premier 60Mbps plan will be automatically upgraded to 75Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds, and customers on the Ultra 70Mbps plan will be automatically upgraded to 100 Mbps download and 10Mbps upload speeds.
