Sparklight® $10 Million Infrastructure Upgrade in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on Track for Spring 2023 Completion
November 22, 2022 – Rio Rancho, NM– Sparklight®, a leading broadband communications provider, is on schedule to complete a $10 million upgrade to its robust, fiber-rich network in Rio Rancho by Spring 2023.
Sparklight began construction on the $10 million infrastructure upgrade last fall. The project will further strengthen the reliability of Sparklight’s high-speed internet service, while building a future-proof network to meet the long-term connectivity needs of the rapidly growing Rio Rancho community.

Sparklight launched 1 Gig internet service to Rio Rancho residential customers in 2017, and in 2018 launched 2 Gig symmetrical internet speeds to business customers. The current infrastructure upgrade paves the way for faster download and upload speeds, enhanced streaming and gaming and uninterrupted connections in multi-device homes, Estrada said.
Work on the Rio Rancho infrastructure upgrade is projected to be complete by spring 2023. The company anticipates the possibility of intermittent service interruptions during construction. Notification will be sent to customers prior to work being conducted in their area. An up-to-date construction list is also available online at www.sparklight.com/riorancho.
