Sparklight Assists Local Teacher in Purchasing Back to School Classroom Supplies

August 8, 2023 – Joplin, Mo. – Students in special education teacher Annie Stover’s class at Joplin Early Childhood will have access to additional classroom supplies this fall, as the result of a recent donation from leading broadband provider Sparklight.

Sparklight purchased the classroom supplies on Stover’s Amazon wish list after she reached out to the company for assistance earlier this summer.

“Sparklight’s assistance will help ensure my students can start the year off on the right foot. The supplies purchased will help in many areas, such as fine motor skills and social and cognitive development,” Stover said. “I am thankful to Sparklight for helping me acquire classroom materials that will help build a strong foundation for academic learning and a welcoming environment for my students.”

Sparklight Joplin General Manager Jim Duck said the company is committed to strengthening and improving the Joplin community where its associates live and work.

“Sparklight is pleased to support teachers like Annie Stover, who are committed to ensuring their students have access to the materials they need to be successful,” Duck said. “We want to thank Annie and all Joplin teachers who work tirelessly to prepare students for a bright future.”

In addition to investing more than $19 million in the Joplin area over the past three years to bring its customers fast and reliable internet they can rely on, Sparklight is committed to being a strong community partner. Through educational programs and donations of time and resources, Sparklight seeks to make a positive impact in the cities and towns it serves, concentrating its support in the areas of education and digital literacy; food insecurity; and community development.
