Sparklight to Bring the Power of Fiber to Longview, Texas
May 20, 2020 – (Phoenix, AZ) – Sparklight, a leading broadband communications provider and part of the Cable One family of brands, announced today that it is building an all fiber-optic network to provide Gig internet service to Longview, Texas residents and businesses.
The company will make a significant investment to construct a state-of-the-art Passive Optical Network (PON) throughout Longview. Benefits of this fiber-based technology include high-speed internet and data services that are both fast and extremely reliable.

The company initially approached Longview city officials in late 2019 with plans to invest in a fiber network which will offer competitive, best-in-class residential and commercial broadband services. Sparklight will fully fund the project and will not require any financial assistance from the city of Longview to complete the build.

With design and construction of the fiber network to begin this summer, Sparklight has named Matt DeMuro as General Manager for Longview. A local Sparklight office located in Longview, staffed by local associates, will support the community as services become available in a phased, neighborhood by neighborhood basis beginning this winter.
